1. Scope

These Terms govern your use of the realredact.app website, email signup, purchase flow, and licence-key delivery. Your installation and use of the Real Redact desktop application is governed by the End User License Agreement (EULA).

If these Terms and the EULA conflict about the Software itself, the EULA applies to the Software.

2. Website Information

We try to keep the website accurate and current, but website content may change and may contain errors. Product descriptions, screenshots, demos, and examples are general information only. They do not remove your responsibility to review your own documents before sharing or uploading them.

The website does not provide legal, medical, accounting, compliance, cybersecurity, privacy, or professional advice.

3. Purchases, Pricing, and Tax

Real Redact is sold for a one-time fee. The current standard price is A$29, although promotional or founder pricing, such as A$19, may be offered for a limited time.

The price and currency shown at checkout are the price and currency that apply to your purchase. Applicable taxes may be calculated and collected during checkout.

Payments are processed by Stripe. Depending on the checkout configuration and your location, Stripe may act as payment processor or merchant of record. We do not receive or store your full card number.

4. Licence Delivery

After successful payment, a licence key is delivered electronically to the email address you provide. You are responsible for entering a valid email address and keeping access to it.

The Software may offer a free trial before purchase. Trial availability, limits, and functionality may change over time.

5. Refunds

Our Refund Policy gives you a 30-day no-questions-asked refund in addition to your non-excludable legal rights. After a refund is issued, your right to use the refunded licence ends and we may decline support, updates, or replacement keys for that refunded licence.

6. Redaction Responsibility

Real Redact is a redaction aid, not a certification that a document is safe to disclose. Automated detection and verification are limited. You are responsible for deciding what to redact, reviewing the Software’s output, and confirming that a saved file is safe before you upload, share, publish, file, or send it.

Further details are in the EULA.

7. Acceptable Use

You must not misuse the website, purchase flow, email signup, or licence system. This includes attempting to break, overload, scrape, probe, interfere with, gain unauthorised access to, or reverse engineer the website, purchase process, email systems, licence-key delivery, or related infrastructure.

You must not resell, publish, share, or redistribute licence keys.

8. Email Signup and Communications

If you sign up for updates, purchase the Software, or contact support, we may email you about the product, your purchase, your licence key, support, refunds, security, or important product notices. You can unsubscribe from marketing updates at any time.

Transactional emails about purchases, refunds, support, or important product notices may still be sent where necessary.

9. Third-Party Services and Links

The website and purchase flow may use third-party services such as Stripe, Resend, Netlify, and other infrastructure providers. Third-party websites and services are controlled by their own operators and may have their own terms and privacy policies.

10. Australian Consumer Law

Nothing in these Terms excludes, restricts, or modifies any consumer guarantee, right, remedy, or other protection you have under the Australian Consumer Law (ACL) or any other law where it would be unlawful to do so.

Our goods and services come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the ACL. If there is a major failure, you may be entitled to a refund, replacement, cancellation, compensation, or other remedy under the ACL. If there is a failure that is not major, you may be entitled to have the failure fixed within a reasonable time and, if it is not fixed, to a remedy under the ACL.

Where the ACL or another law permits us to limit our liability for a failure to comply with a guarantee, our liability is limited, at our option, to one or more of the following: replacing the Software or supplying equivalent software; repairing the Software; paying the cost of replacing or repairing the Software; resupplying the relevant service; paying the cost of resupplying the relevant service; or refunding the price paid.

11. Disclaimers and Liability

Subject always to Section 10 and to the maximum extent permitted by law, the website, purchase flow, email signup, and licence delivery are provided “as is” and “as available”. We do not promise that the website or purchase flow will be uninterrupted, error-free, or available at all times.

Subject always to Section 10 and to the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive loss or damage, including loss of profits, revenue, business, goodwill, opportunity, data, documents, reputation, or anticipated savings.

Subject always to Section 10 and to the maximum extent permitted by law, our total aggregate liability arising out of or in connection with the website, purchase flow, email signup, licence delivery, or these Terms is limited to the amount you paid for the Software.

For liability relating to the Software itself, see the EULA.

12. Changes

We may update these Terms from time to time. The current version will be posted on realredact.app or made available with the Software. Material changes will not apply retroactively to a completed purchase unless required by law or unless the change is clearly beneficial to you.

13. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Queensland, Australia. The parties submit to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Queensland and the courts that hear appeals from them.

This does not deprive a consumer of the protection of mandatory consumer-protection laws of their place of residence where those laws apply and cannot be waived.
